Happy Tuesday! ✨ How are we doing? Let me know in the comments. 🎄 In today's episode of the Blogmas series, I would like to share my thoughts on a quite interesting topic. For the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that many people on Instagram shared videos of buying a puppy for their loved ones as a Christmas gift.
Honestly, I was quite surprised because a new pet can be a wonderful gift, but it can also be a tough challenge. Countless dogs are returned to breeders and shelters all over the world after the holidays because they were given as gifts to families who were not prepared for them. Dogs are amazing, but they require time, patience, and dedication – not to mention a lifestyle change. Parents can think about the best gift for their children, and you do not get any better than a puppy if you are purely wanting the “ahhh” factor because lets face it, almost every child wants a pet. When I was a little girl, a puppy was my deepest desire. I was sure that I would burst into happy tears at the sight of an adorable puppy wearing a big, red festive bow. I could not imagine that it will not be long before that cute ball of fluff starts barking, pooping, and chewing off its bow.
I truly believe that the best way to give the gift of a dog is to make it a planned gift. If your siblings have been talking about getting a pet for a long time, and they are prepared to take on the responsibility, then, by all means, bring your new dog home for the holidays. 🌟 On the other hand, if you are not sure, and have not sat down and discussed it with them, all about the time, money, effort, patience, and life-long commitment that comes with getting a dog or puppy, this might not be a perfect Christmas gift. You can start with a stuffed animal or a dog care book. The person you love will be still surprised, and who knows, he or she might decide to bring home a new family member next year. 💝
Merry Christmas!🎄✨
